Gunns drops action against Greens

18 December 2006

Australian timber company Gunns Ltd has dropped legal action against Greens leader Senator Bob Brown and colleague Peg Putt.

Gunns tried several times to sue the pair and a number of environmental groups for their “ongoing damaging campaigns and activities” against the company.

The company had launched a fourth legal case against them in November, but this has now been dropped.

But others who have protested aganst Gunns' logging activities are still facing court action, including the Wilderness Society.
