Hairy time for timber traders

1 November 2011

Men in the timber trade are putting down their razors this month to raise money for testicular and prostate cancer awareness and research.

Teams at The Timber Trade Federation, Rembrand Timber and James Donaldson & Sons are all growing moustaches as part of the annual Movember fund-raising event.

At the Timber Trade Federation chief executive John White; head of technical and trade affairs Nick Boulton; Nick Llewellin; sustainability executive Anand Punja; and ReThink director Stuart Harker, have been joined by Robert Allison from Weyerhaeuser Products Ltd and Geoff Boxall from Pacific Lumber Services (UK) Ltd to form the Timber Trade Tash's team.

The Rembrand Timber team – known as Rembrand Flavour Savours – comprises Ben Leng, Graham Garden, Michael Higgins, Jeff Low, Jon Collinson, Steve Essex, Mark Phillips and George Low. They are already well on their way to reaching their fund-raising target of £1,000 with a donation of £200 from Cheshire Mouldings.

The James Donaldson team Lee Robinson, Jason McAteer, Robert Aldred and Oli James from the Ilkeston branch of Donaldson Timber Engineering and Rob Hill from Parker Kislingbury.

To make a donation go to http://uk.movember.com/donate/ and search for the team names.

The TTF is keen to find out whether any other timber traders have set up their own teams up for Movember. If you have please contact Anand Punja at the TTF apunja@ttf.co.uk. Alternatively you can link to Timber Trade Tash’s by adding your team to the network.
