Half century of forestry recognised

13 March 2014

Len Yull, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Foresters, former chairman and national secretary of PEFC UK, and former chair of the Forestry & Timber Association, has received Confor’s award for distinguished service to forestry.

The award was presented by Scotland's minister for environment and climate change, Paul Wheelhouse, at Confor's industry dinner.
Mr Yull has more than 50 years' experience in the forestry sector, both in the UK and abroad.

Confor chief executive Stuart Goodall described Mr Yull as a "fighter and campaigner".

"He is a great champion of commercial forestry - articulate and relaxed on stage and in the media," Mr Goodall said.
