Hardwood products on show at 100% Design
19 September 2013The Canadian wood products sector and the UK hardwood flooring industry have a strong presence at the 100% Design show this week.
The Earl's Court event on September 18-21 features a renewed marketing effort to promote Canadian maple by the Quebec Wood Export Bureau on a stand manned by Canada Wood UK, while a display showing shortlisted entries for the Wood Awards 2013 demonstrates the potential of timber in construction and furniture.
"This is the first time we've exhibited at 100% Design," Canada Wood UK's Patrick Cooper told TTJ.
"We think people have forgotten about Canadian maple, so this gives us a good opportunity to promote the species with some sample swatches and technical information."
UK hardwood flooring suppliers exhibiting include Barham & Sons, Docwood, Eco Flooring UK, Reeve Flooring, Trade Flooring and V4 Woodflooring.
Somerset-based veneer specialist Mundy Veneer is using the event to launch its 2014 Tabu dyed veneer collection and show new textural veneer panels.
100% Design is billed as the UK's largest contemporary design event, attracting 25,096 visitors last year and spread over 20,000m2 of exhibition space.
