Inwido continues acquisition spree

European door and window manufacturing giant Inwido AB has continued its acquisition spree by completing the takeover of PVCu door and window producer CWG Choices.

Sweden-based Inwido, whose business is focused on timber windows and aluminium-clad wooden windows and doors, has acquired 100% of the shares in CWG Choices for £11.6m.

The move complements the product offerings of its existing UK businesses – Allan Bros and Jack Brunsdon & Son.

Inwido said CWG covers the Midlands and South of England areas. In the UK PVCu windows represent approximately 80 percent of total market sales.

“With the acquisition of CWG Choices we will strengthen our position in the UK and in the important and profitable installer channel”, said Håkan Jeppsson, president and CEO of Inwido.

“CWG Choices sells mostly PVCu products but also offers products in aluminium. We see possibilities to extend the offer to the installers with timber windows in the future”, he added.

CWG Choices has some 180 employees and generated sales of £23m in 2015. It has two factories in Corby and Aldridge.
