Ireland's Student Wood Awards winners announced next week

4 June 2010

The winners of Ireland’s Student Wood Awards will be revealed next week.

The awards, now in their fifth year, are organised by the Wood Marketing Federaton in association with wood-ni. They are open to third-year architecture, engineering and design students.

The winner in each of the three categories – timber and engineering in construction; architecture; and innovative use of timber in design – receive €2,000, as do their colleges.

Twenty finalists have been chosen from heats held at colleges through Ireland and Northern Ireland and the winners, chosen by a panel of judges led by architect Duncan Stewart, will be announced at a ceremony in Co Kildare next Friday.
