Kingspan offers CSH guidance

30 June 2008

Kingspan Off-Site has launched a new support scheme to help developers and other specifiers satisfy the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH).

Its CSH Assurance Scheme offers a bespoke consultancy service for clients, covering the pre-design stage, through to completion and the certification process.

It will also include access to Kingspan’s Building Performance Services Team, which provides face-to-face meetings, site visits, telephone advice and written guidance for organisations working to CSH regulations.

Kingspan claims to have a unique experience of the CSH after completing the Lighthouse, a Level 6 targeted home at the BRE Innovation Park in Watford.

The scheme’s launch follows Kingspan’s announcement that it would refocus its timber frame operation in Milton Keynes to offer a more customer-led service.

“The objective behind constructing the Kingspan Lighthouse was to learn how to reach the highest level of the Code, both in terms of design and build,” said Gilbert McCarthy, Kingspan Off-Site’s managing director.

“There are aspects of reaching Code requirements that we discovered during our build which we can pass on to others, saving them time and money, and most importantly, helping them to reach their Code level of choice.”
