Laver invests in Sheffield

4 August 2007

The Arnold Laver Group has announced that it is to open a new 60,000ft2 depot in Sheffield as part of its commitment to maintain and strengthen its presence in the city.

The £3.5m development is to house the company’s Timber World Call Centre and Alco Builders’ Merchants, which are both leaving their existing sites to move to the new facility on Little London Road in Heeley.

Arnold Laver’s new site is also set to complement its main Timber World centre at Mosborough, which features a sawmill, design engineering production facility, call collect centre and regional sales headquarters.

“It gives us an opportunity to expand our Timber World Call Collect Centre facilities when it moves,” said Mark Bower, director of the Arnold Laver Group. “Our new depot will have about 35,000ft2 more floor space than the old premises. It means we can extend our product range and therefore provide an even better service for our customers.”

In addition, Arnold Laver has said that the new depot will initially create 20 jobs, “with more to follow at a later date”.

The new facility is due to open in January 2008, with the company’s Chesterfield Road site, currently home to the Timber World Call Centre trade depot, remaining operational until then.
