Lignia muscles into modified market

20 November 2008

Modified wood product Lignia has achieved commercial recognition in the UK with contracts with JELD-WEN and children’s Furniture Manufacturer Aspace.

JELD-WEN has taken delivery of a shipment of Lignia door lippings, while Aspace is using the product to produce its new Tribeca range. This includes cots and dressers.

Lignia is produced in New Zealand and uses an impregnated compound to give softwood the characteristics of hardwood.

Lignia’s growth in the UK market puts it in direct competition with fellow modified wood brands Kurawood, Accoya and Indurite.

Other future applications for Lignia include exterior grade for decking and interior for worktops. A major contract in the northern Europe is also due to be announced shortly.
