Lodowski’s plea for timber unity

23 January 2013

President of the London Hardwood Club Andy Lodowski has made an impassioned plea for the timber trade to unite against the threat of competitor materials.

Mr Lodowski issued his call at the London Hardwood Club's biggest event of the year - the New Year Luncheon at the Honourable Artillery Company in City Road, central London.

He said the hardwood, softwood and panels trade should work together in the face of challenges from the likes of concrete and other materials.

About 140 people attended the event, with only a few not able to make it due to snow.

The lunch also raised £1,250 for two charities - Cardiac Risk in the Young and Daybreak.

Neil Payton at Credit Indemnity Financial Services won all three cash prizes in the raffle - a total of £600.
