London Softwood Club to hold training forum

“Is the trade neglecting its responsibility in training?” will be one of the questions posed at the London Softwood Club’s Training Forum next month.

A panel of leading trade education advocates will give presentations at the event to be held at London’s Charing Cross Hotel on October 4.

SCA Timber Supply managing director Rob Simpson will chair the panel, which is made up of British Woodworking Federation (BWF) chief executive Richard Lambert, Tony Traynor of wood for good, IWSc tutor Glen Sharples, and chairman of The Timber Trade Federation’s (TTF) education, training and careers committee Keith Fryer.

The forum will focus on the latest edcuation developments, including the TTF and TTJ Doorway training and careers information initiative, new IWSc courses and qualifications. BWF softwood training workshops and training in new timber technologies where UK expertise is lacking.
