Mid-Sussex Timber celebrates 90th anniversary
31 July 2019Mid-Sussex Timber (MST) has celebrated its 90th year in business with an evening of racing at Lingfield Park Racecourse attended by 80 past and present employees.
The company has been supplying directly imported timber to the building trade and retail markets since its first branch opened in East Grinstead. It now has three other Sussex locations in Haywards Heath, Forest Row and Crowborough.
It is still family-run and is operated by second and third-generation family members; Tim, Simon, Alex and Cara Waters.
“Ninety years is a landmark anniversary for any company, but for a small independent business such as ourselves, it is even more ground breaking,” said Alex Waters, operations director and grandson of the founder.
MST recently launched a new website featuring real-time inventory and stock, nominated day delivery, as well as a branch-specific click and collect service.
