NETTA a model for market education and promotion

29 January 2008

The North East Timber Trade Association (NETTA) has been held up as a model for the rest of the UK timber sector in terms of market education and promotion.

Speaking to the audience of 233 at the annual NETTA dinner in Newcastle, Timber Trade Federation vice-president Kevin Hayes praised the Association’s high-profile initiatives, including its annual Structural Timber Award, which challenges Newcastle University architectural students to design a wood-based building.

“I’d like to congratulate NETTA for doing an excellent job and give credit to Ian Robinson and Pat Burke [past and current NETTA chairmen] on their work in timber promotion,” he said.

He also commended the association on its success in getting members involved and, particularly, on the quality of its recently upgraded website (www.netta.org).

More follows in this week's TTJ magazine.
