New UPM further processed products division named UPM Living

The new further processed products business that was separated from UPM Timber in June has been named UPM Living.

UPM Living consists of three divisions – home, garden and house - and manufactures wood-based products for interior decoration as well as building materials for gardens and homes, selling to consumers and industry. UPM Timber will focus on serving sawn timber customers in industry and the construction sector.

“Our objective is to make UPM Living products the first choice for all interior decorators and constructors who are searching for top-quality interior decoration solutions made of wood, who are building a pergola for their garden or who are building an impressive façade for their house,” said senior vice-president of UPM Living, Arto Halonen.

UPM split its sawn timber and further processed products into separate divisions to improve service to timber and building industry customers. The move is also aimed at improving new product development capabilities for sustainable building.

“By renewing our operating models we are able to improve our profitability and sales of our sawn and further processed products,” said Tuomo Visanko, senior vice-president of UPM’s forest and timber business, earlier this year.
