NFI sells Bauwerk to concentrate on Kährs

22 October 2009

Solid and engineered wood flooring producer Bauwerk has been sold by its parent company Nybron Flooring International (NFI) to Zurmont Madison Private Equiy and EGS Beteiligungen.

NFI will use the net proceeds to repay debt, support its Kährs business and improve marketing, sales and the supply chain to prepare the company for a rebound of demand and recovery of global markets.

The deal will bring Bauwerk, founded in 1944, back to its Swiss roots.

“We are very happy to have found a buyer who will continue to operate the Bauwerk production facilities both in St Margrethen and Salzburg,” said NFI CEO Per Skårner.

Zurmont Madison founding partner Werner Schnorf said the investor would support Bauwerk’s ambitious plans.
