North America's biggest MDF plant starts up soon
8 September 2009The biggest MDF plant in North America is scheduled to go into production this autumn.
Pfleiderer said the pressing line at Uniboard in Moncure, North Carolina is being wired and prepared for start-up.
The line has a capacity of 400,000m³ and complements an existing chipboard facility at the site.
Pfleiderer said the line would be Forest Stewardship Council-certified by the end of the year.
The chipboard line has just received its FSC certification, while another Uniboard operation – Mont Laurier, Quebec, will have its production audited for FSC certification by the end of 2009.
