Obituary – David Dick

6 February 2013

David Dick, considered a doyen of the UK teak trade, died on January 22.

Mr Dick started work at Denny, Mott & Dickson in the 1950s and remained in the same position as head of the teak department through many takeovers and mergers (Mallinson Group, RM Turner & Hunters, Mallinson Turner Hunter, Parker Kislingbury and others).

David Dick was a true gentleman; a delight to work and deal with. His knowledge of teak was second to none and his honesty, integrity and calm unruffled manner endeared him to all that came in contact with him on both a personal and professional level.
He is survived by his wife Marian and his children.
