OSB highlights natural refuge

11 July 2013

The dramatic curving timber form of the Embassy for Refugees Pavilion illustrates the natural refuge that tree canopies provide – but in OSB.

Timbmet and Coillte Panel Products collaborated to create the building in London as part of Celebrating Sanctuary Week.

Coillte supplied 100 sheets of SmartPly CNC machined by Timbmet for the project, which demanded certified strength and loading.

"The pavilion was a demonstration of how simple timber materials can produce innovative, elegant structures with exciting, unusual forms," said architect Natasha Reid.
