Ridgeons divisional director retires

22 June 2010

Mike Cammack, a long-serving divisional director of RIdgeons Forest Products Ltd, has retired after 24 years with the company.

He was farewelled at a reception held at the Ridgeons’ Cromwell Road branch in Cambridge, where he was praised by colleagues and presented with gift vouchers.

Former managing director Alan Pealling said many people had a “great deal of respect and admiration” for Mr Cammack’s work. “Mike led the way for Ridgeons Forest Products for many years and was key in implementing the Ridgeons Forest Products’ project plan,” he said.

Mr Cammack started work at the Cavendish Road site in 1986, commuting each day from Great Yarmouth. He has been instrumental in the development of the business, with his skills to create strong working relationships with foreign timber companies being the envy of many of his peers.

Speaking on behalf of the Ridgeons family, Gordon Ridgeon said that under Mr Cammack’s leadership the business had grown from strength to strength. “His passion and capability, alongside his amiability and wide knowledge of the industry, have enabled the business to continue to live the dream and love of timber which my great-grandfather and subsequent family generations have had,” he said. “On behalf of the family, we thank Mike for the years of service he has given to the company and for building on our heritage.”
