Rollinson and Bonfield honoured by Queen

Forestry Commission director general Tim Rollinson has been awarded a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Peter Bonfield, chief executive of the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and a former BRE timber division director was awarded an OBE.

Mr Rollinson, has been at the Forestry Commission since 1976, spending his recent career developing a sustainable approach to managing forests in the UK and worldwide. He is currently at the Rio+20 Earth Summit.

"I am thrilled that Tim has been recognised for his considerable contribution to both forestry worldwide and to the Forestry Commission of Great Britain over several decades," said Pam Warhurst, Forestry Commision chairman.

Mr Bonfield's OBE recognises his services to research and innovation in the construction industry.
