ROOF+TIMBER attracts 42,000 visitors

9 March 2010

More than 42,000 visitors turned out for the ROOF+TIMBER International exhibition in Cologne on February 24-27.

Organisers said this year represented a “great leap forward” in the show’s international appeal, with non-German visitors doubling to 13% of the total attendance, despite overall attendance down by 6,300 on 2008

“We had very positive feedback from our firms,” said Ullrich Huth, chairman of Holzbau Deutschland.

“There was good attendance at the stands and demand was high. The themes of renovation and improving energy efficiency were particularly popular.”

Exhibitor numbers totalled 471 (2008: 554), pitching a range of new products, timber construction solutions, fittings, roof and wall innovations to roofers, carpenters, architects and engineers.

Exhibitors included Steico, Ante-Holz, Pavatex (woodfibre insulation), Pfleiderer, Pinus, MH MassivHolz, Weinmann, Mayr-Melnhof, Ladenburger, Kronoply, Klenk Holz, KLH, Inthermo, Fermacell, Haas Holzindustrie, Hans Hundegger and Leitz.

Next year the event will be held in Stuttgart from January 31-February 3.
