Saint-Gobain expands with Pasquill acquisition

28 September 2007

Pasquill Roof Trusses Ltd has been acquired by Saint-Gobain Building Distribution (SGBD).

SGBD said the move was the latest expansion of its Timber Group and reflects the continuous growth of timber frame housing and the growing significance of the UK timber trade – worth an estimated £7.6bn.

Pasquill, which operates from six sites in Scotland and England, manufactures roof trusses, engineered floor systems and spandrel panels.

SGBD said Pasquill’s position as a specialist supplier of certified timber products used in the construction of timber frame housing would complement the group’s existing portfolio of timber companies in the UK, which includes RK Timber and International Timber.

“Pasquill Roof Trusses is renowned for its exceptional service through its ability to develop bespoke solutions for its customers, and its responsible procurement policies, highlighted by its use of certified timber,” said Dave Gledhill, managing director of SGBD’s Timber Group.

Brian Kille, Pasquill sales director, said joining SGBD would provide the company with opportunities to grow.
