Scott Timber buys Combine share

15 November 2004

Acquisitive pallet specialist Scott Timber Group (STG) has bought a 51% stake in Barry-based Combine Packaging.
Established in 2000, the £750,000 turnover packaging company had originally been a joint venture with Combine Pallets (CP) but did not form part of last year's £5m deal in which STG acquired CP.
The company will continue to be operated by directors Chris Hatton and Trevor Thomas-Impey while STG director Norman Scott becomes company secretary. Mr Scott said: "The company is a very good fit with Scott Timber and means we can now go to customers and offer them a total solution for all their consumable needs. When matched with the Scott Timber network, Combine Packaging has significant growth potential – possibly a tenfold increase over the next three years."
Meanwhile, STG has sealed a "six-figure" deal with MAN ERF UK for a fleet of 15 tractor units which will operate primarily between six group sites in England and two in Wales.
