Södra treads further into flooring

17 December 2012

Södra is to further expand its flooring business with the acquisition of Swedish solid flooring manufacturer Föllinge Golv.

The company produces 40,000m2 of flooring a year and has a turnover of SKr10m. It will merged into Södra Interiors in the new year.

Södra said the deal is part of the Interiors' strategic focus on flooring products, and will increase the range to include exclusive conical flooring and flooring for halls and chambers as supplied to the landmark Västerås Castle.

"There are good opportunities for synergies between the companies in the fields of marketing production, logistics and product development in both the short term and long term," said Ulf Edman, CEO of Södra Interior.

Earlier this year the company acquired parquet flooring manufacturer Berg & Berg, whose factory was next to the Interiors site. It produced 500,000m2 of product a year and had a turnover of SKr130m.
