7 February 2014

Setra is merging its timber housing business Plusshus with its processed wood products division to create a new business area – Building Products & Systems.

The sawmiller said the move was designed to further strengthen the offering of processed wood products for construction and homes.

"A higher level of value-added processing is part of our future strategic direction and the change we are now carrying out will create conditions for exploiting and developing the benefits of our combined expertise within construction and homes," said Setra president and CEO Hannele Arvonen.

"Setra will offer customer benefits by being the most effective supplier throughout the value chain from sawn and planed wood products to high-quality, prefabricated homes."

The new division's offering includes glulam, solid wood floors and claddings, through to industrial timber building systems.

The merged business will have annual sales of around SKr700m and 185 employees.
