SICAM reports good attendance

2 November 2011

Organisers of Italian furniture industry supplies exhibition SICAM report that attendance matched last year’s event at 18,000 visitors.

“It is a surprising outcome in a difficult moment for the economic system and the furniture sector,” it said.

Some 27% of visitors at the Pordenone event were from abroad.

Trends include large flowered grains, saw cut surfaces, liming and distressed looks.

Exhibitor Egger said although the Italian debt crisis provided some uncertainty, it had good conversations with existing and new customers.

It said the “international flavour” of SICAM made the event a really good show, with Egger’s products and services meeting with “great approval”.

Egger said visitors were thrilled with its Virtual Design Studio, a visualisation tool for furniture industry clients.

The company has about 70 customers in the Italian furniture sector.
