Staircraft has started to manufacture i-Joists under their TRUfloorsystems operation, which is being headed by Andy Moore, previously STEICO UK director.

Already one of the UK’s largest cut floor kit providers, the company has opened its new i-Joist facility in Coventry and said the move ‘enhances a complete integrated solutions service, for staircases and floor systems with all key components manufactured in-house across the group’.

TRUfloorsystems i-Joist are being supplied in fully designed and packaged house kits with ancillary products, including weather proof decking, or in longer lengths and depths for third party cutting or fabrication. The company is also providingits own design software.

Available in depths from 200 to 500mm, in standard lengths of 11and 13m and shorter length specifications, the i-joists feature an OSB web and softwood flanges.

Supporting its own manufacturing plant, Staircraft has also partnered with Masonite-Beams from Sweden, represented in the UK by SODRA, to provide two joist supply routes and guaranteeavailability and growth capacity.

“Staircraft have 33 years of delivering innovation in the manufacture, supply and installation of staircases,” said Mr Moore. “We’ll take the same innovative, customer-centric approach to grow our share of the i-Joist market, with plans under-way for adjacent categories.”

“Our investment in a high technology, bespoke production line, enables us to take i-joist performance to a new level,” said Andy Hamilton, Staircraft founder and managing director. “It will enable us to eliminate web joints, greatly improving the web/flange connection strength and build a camber into the joists to reduce deflection in the floor.”

Staircraft  is Europe’s largest staircase manufacturer, with a capacity to supply  1400 new build homes week. It operates four factories in the Midlands, with plans for four more this year.
