Stairs design guide launch

4 October 2013

A new design guide for stairs will be launched at the Building Centre in London on October 22 – the culmination of two years’ work by the British Woodworking Federation’s (BWF) Stair Scheme.

The event will include guest speakers who will showcase new developments in design and best practice with some examples of UK timber and hybrid stairs.

The BWF Stair Scheme Design Guide sets out the industry standard for stair manufacture and explains how specifiers can verify that products meet the required standards while also delivering stairs pushing boundaries in new design.

The BWF Stair Scheme embraces more than 70% of the timber staircase market.

“This is an opportunity to demonstrate the excellence that can now be found in timber stairs,” said Iain McIlwee, BWF chief executive.
