Steico enters new chapter

German I-joist and insulation producer Steico AG has appointed Puhoswood managing director Andy Moore to head its UK operation. Following the move, Mr Moore’s role at Puhoswood will be taken up by director Alex Campbell.

Steico turns over €86m, claims a 35% share of the European wood-fibre insulation market and in 2006 opened a 50 million linear metre I-joist plant in Poland. It opened its UK office, headed by Mark Wilson, in the same year.

The company said its appointment of Mr Moore signalled its intention to “take its business in the UK construction industry to the next stage”.

Mark Wilson will take over from his father Ernest as director of Panel Agency Ltd. In this role, said Steico, he would continue his relationship with the company as a “long-standing customer”.
