Sydenhams starts easi-joist production

The Salisbury-based company, part of the 10-branch Sydenhams Group, opted for easi-joist following customer demand for an open web joist system.

“More and more people are asking for the open web system,” said Paul Frances, Salisbury branch manager.

He said ease of fitting services was the principal reason for the product's popularity, especially in affordable housing projects.

Mr Francis reported a “good” level of customer enquiries since production started this month.

Sydenhams Timber Engineering has bought a press and software from Wolf and will use existing machinery for cutting timber.

The Sydenhams group already offers Finnforest's Finnjoist engineered timber flooring system.
