Tasmania has launched a chain of custody certification scheme that applies to an entire supply chain.

Fine Timber Tasmania, a not-for-profit organisation representing the state’s timber supply chain, had its new chain of custody scheme officially launched by state minister for energy and resources David Llewellyn.

It is billed as an innovative response to contemporary consumer tends that will help build Tasmania’s brand and international reputation.

“There are many individual companies that have a chain of custody scheme, but nowhere else in the world is there one that applies to an entire supply chain,” said Mr Llewellyn.

Scheme branding will appear on Tasmanian timber products.
