Technical consultants rejoin TRADA Technology

Ewan Brown and Nick Clifford have rejoined TRADA Technology Ltd as technical consultants, bringing with them broad experience of the timber and construction sectors at home and overseas. They will report to head of Timber Technology Investigations Philip O’Leary.

Ewan Brown worked on a short-term research project for what is now Buckinghamshire New University, investigating the reuse of timber waste, before joining Timber Queensland, the industry association for timber and forestry industries in Queensland, Australia in 2007 He then worked for the Engineered Wood Products Association of Australasia (EWPAA) on product and chain of custody (FSC/PEFC) certification of plywood manufactured in the region.

Nick Clifford returns to TRADA Technology after seven years in business management, including running his own company offering condition surveys and environmentally-friendly timber and damp surveys for homeowners, applying solutions without the need for chemical fungicide treatments. Previously he worked with specialist surveyors Hutton & Rostron, carrying out condition surveys, often on listed buildings of historic interest.

In their new roles within TRADA Technology, they will carry out timber investigations, laboratory work and site inspections for a wide range of clients, including architects, engineers, building contractors, timber suppliers, heritage specialists, local authorities and organisations who maintain infrastructure, such as rail, highways, energy and communications.
