Thermopal designs win red dot award

Pfleiderer subsidiary Thermopal has won an international red dot design award.

Thermopal’s “Designers’ Collection” of avant-garde high pressure laminate (HPL) designs, developed for hotels, shops, spas and leisure centres, was chosen to receive the award.

Six renowned design and architecture offices designed 54 avant-garde designs on behalf of Thermopal, including designers Alfredo Häberli and Javier Mariscal, as well as as the Berlin architectural offices GRAFT, known in particular for its work for the Hollywood star Brad Pitt.

“The red dot identifies Thermopal as a creative and innovative brand and adds a new value to the material HPL – not least for architects and interior designers,” said Thermopal’s marketing director Matthias Marx.

For this year’s competition, companies from 49 countries submitted a total of 3,231 products, with the red dot awarded to 683 of the submitted products.

Thermopal GmbH supplies decorative chipboard and MDF panels, high-pressure laminates and numerous special products.
