Tilhill tops £100m sales mark

UPM Tilhill achieved record sales in 2007, surpassing the £100m milestone for the first time in its history.

Sales were up by 22% year-on-year in 2007 according to the firm,with its profits also up to £4.1m.

The forest and woodland management enterprise said that the results were driven by "very good performance by all of its operating divisions", including timber harvesting, forestry management, rail and utility arboriculture and commercial landscaping.

"UPM Tilhill is delighted to have delivered particularly positive results," said managing director Steve Lavery.

"Our success is built on continually improving service levels whilst maintaining the highest possible professional standards."

UPM Tilhill added that it had plans for further growth in the future, with developments in the biomass sector helping to fuel growth.
