Timber frame stalwart receives honours

Stewart Milne Group board director Hugh Mackay has been honoured for his dedication to the promotion of timber frame construction with an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Mr Mackay has more than 45 years’ experience in the UK construction industry and was a founding member of what is known today as the UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA). He is a past chairman of both the UKTFA and TRADA. He has worked for Stewart Milne for the past 35 years and is a chartered engineer and fellow of the Institute of Structural Engineers.

UKTFA chairman Geoff Arnold said members of the UKTFA were proud that Mr Mackay had been honoured. “His contribution to the growth of our industry throughout his long and illustrious career has been immeasurable, and he continues to be a true inspiration as we strive to lead the way in construction innovation. We can think of no more fitting way to honour his career.”
