Timber puts sustainability case at Ecobuild

5 March 2014

The world’s largest sustainable building show, Ecobuild, kicked off yesterday.

One of the most eye-catching timber features was the plywood pavilion of Ongreening, a new online sustainable building information platform. DHH Timber Products provided the birch plywood for the structure, while Coillte Panel Products supplied OSB for the flooring.

Visitor attendance on the first day seemed quiet, but long-time show supporter Arden Windows told TTJ that it still found Ecobuild a valuable event.

"The show provides us with good leads and after last year's show we had an influx of requests for quotes," said
David Bickley, Arden's group finance director.

Two Latvian timber frame manufacturers - FrameHouse and WWL Houses - exhibited because of Ecobuild's reputation and their desire to access the UK market.

A full report on Ecobuild will appear in the next issue of TTJ.
