Timber shopping centre built in Finland
6 October 2011Finnforest has delivered roofing panels and the glulam frame for one of the largest wooden shopping centres in Finland.
The 3,000m² K-Rajamarket in Nuorgam, Lapland is also the northern-most shopping centre in the country.
Finnforest’s Kerto-Ripa panels, made from glued Kerto LVL elements, offered a competitive roofing solution when combined with the glulam frame, because of fast installation of durable and lightweight elements.
“The construction time in this project was less than five months,” said Petri Silvonen, Finnforest head of projects.
The build was a joint project between Finnforest and Honka, which supplied the façade and towers on the front of the building. Main contractor was Rekonen.
