Timber takes centre stage at Interbuild

29 April 2007

The Timber Zone is to play a central role at this year's Interbuild show, event organisers have stated.

Interbuild's Gordon Thomas has said that energy concerns and the demand for affordable housing were driving developments in the construction industry and this meany that timber would be at “the fore throughout the show”.

This has led Interbuild and TRADA to work together to create a timetable of seminars and discussions addressing timber-related issues for this year's event.

“We've all witnessed a growing interest in timber products, driven by legislation and the environment,” said Mr Thomas.

“Energy concerns and affordable housing - coupled with changes to Building Regulations and codes - are the biggest external factors driving the latest product developments and together with TRADA we will be looking to bring these issues to the fore throughout the show.”

James Jones & Sons Ltd, Covers Timber Structures, Lloyds Timber Frames Ltd, IJM Timber Engineering and Hardwood & Softwood Joinery are among some of the firms scheduled to appear at the Interbuild show.
