Timber training takes to the road

17 March 2008

The British Woodworking Federation's (BWF's) Woodworking Industry Training Forum (WITForum) is to stage three more timber training programme dates around the UK.

The courses will be undertaken in three modules, including understanding softwoods and hardwoods, treatments and coatings and sustainability, and will be held at EA Higginson & Co's London site on May 7-9, Jeld-Wen UK Ltd's Melton Mowbray base on June 4-6 and at GE Carpentry Services Ltd in Mid Glamorgan on October 8-10.

"The modules are a fantastic opportunity for those in the industry to learn from industry experts about the many different species and varying characteristics of wood and also about sustainability," said BWF chief executive Richard Lambert.

One timber training programme day has already been held at Snows Timber Ltd's Glastonbury site in early March.
