Timbmet produces Red Grandis guide

11 November 2011

Timbmet has produced a new brochure on the benefits of its FSC-certified Red Grandis range of high performance hardwood.

Exclusive to Timbmet, Red Grandis is imported from the north-east of Uruguay, and is provided as sawn timber, machined mouldings or TEC (Timbmet Engineered Components) for added dimensional stability.

Timbmet says the timber delivers consistency of appearance, grain and workability and has a superior overall finish. It offers a sustainable, affordable alternative to sapele or meranti in the production of timber components.

The new full colour brochure details how Red Grandis delivers on “performance, durability and aesthetics” showing responsible growing, harvesting and production from seedling to the finished product.

Case studies detailing the use of the product are included for easy reference, highlighting some of the most prestigious projects where Red Grandis has been used to maximum effect. These include The Lancasters in Hyde Park, a major development where Red Grandis was used for over 800 doors and windows with continuity of supply of engineered Grandis an essential part.
