TRA appoints health and safety chairman

6 January 2011

The Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) has appointed Paul Colley as chairman of its health and safety committee.

Mr Colley is the health, safety and environmental manager for Saint-Gobain’s timber group which includes Pasquill, International Timber and Jewson. He is responsible for the health and safety at 30 manufacturing sites, including seven design sites in the timber and timber engineering sectors.

The TRA health and safety committee comprises representatives from TRA members who are all responsible for health and safety in their individual companies. A Health & Safety Executive (HSE) representative also attends meetings to liaise between the HSE and trussed rafter industry.

“I am looking forward to the challenges ahead as chairman,” said Mr Colley. “With the help of the committee, I hope to define its role and function and provide the TRA membership with sound, practical advice and guidance on the health and safety issues we all experience.”
