Travis Perkins to rejoin Timber Trade Federation

Travis Perkins (TP) is to rejoin The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) in 2010 after being impressed at recent progress made by the organisation.

TP said it was pleased at how the TTF had re-evaluated its main aims and focus and its influence in the timber and construction industries, as well as government.

“We have been impressed by the steps taken by the new management to improve the professionalism of the organisation and develop ethical links,” said chief operating officer John Carter.

“Clearly, in current trading conditions, businesses and trade organisations need to work together to ensure a successful future.”

TTF chief executive John White said TP’s decision improved The Federation’s ability to offer meaningful industry representation and offered a “powerful endorsement” of the TTF strategy to grow the use of wood.
