TTBS benefits from Timber Expo support

3 October 2012

The Timber Trade Benevolent Society (TTBS) trustees and national president, Dilwyn Howells wish to express their sincere thanks to Loretta Sales and the Timber Expo organising team for their magnificent support of the Society at the recent 2012 event at the Ricoh Arena.

The auction that was organised to raise funds for the TTBS and in memory of the late Jean Kloos, past national TTBS president, took place at the exhibitors reception on September 25 and together with a collection held after the auction, raised over £4,500 to further aid the TTBS Beneficiaries.

"Loretta Sales and the Timber Expo team have been fantastic and we are very grateful to them and to all the companies who donated the magnificent prizes to be auctioned and, of course, to the generous bidders who have produced this princely total,” said TTBS general manager, Ivan Savage.

“I would also wish to thank Andrew Carpenter CEO of the UK Timber Frame Association who headed up the auction and encouraged the bidders into a spending frenzy.

“I hope that the 2012 Timber Expo was hugely successful for all the Exhibitors and that they continue to support the growth of the Expo in future years.

Loretta and her team have created a truly excellent industry event which deserves to succeed and hopefully will continue to enhance the use of wood and associated products.

I also hope that the Expo will continue to support the TTBS in future years to raise funds for the TTBS and the many ex timber trade employees that we help on an ongoing basis.”

Prizes for the Expo Auction were donated by Timber Expo, Radar Communications, TRADA, BSW Timber, Lonza Wood Protection, Timbmet, MHSouthern & Co Ltd, TFT Woodexperts, Taylormade Timber and Canada Wood.
