TTF comes top in European survey

1 October 2006

The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) has come top in a survey of five European wood associations carried out by the German timber trade association, GD Holz.

Five associations were rated against 111 key criteria ranging from strategy and goals, organisation and stakeholder dialogue through to representation of members' interests and sustainable forest management advice.

The TTF scored the highest rating in eight categories, good in two, and a “showing potential” in its “economic contribution”.

“This demonstrates both the international contribution and the global standing the TTF works so hard to achieve,” said John White, TTF chief executive.

“It is through our unequivocal stance on illegal logging, our high level political engagement and our tuned business support that we are able to claim such success. It is great to have it recognised,” he added.
