TTF products divisions name new chairmen

A new chairman and vice-chairman have been named for The Timber Trade Federation National Softwood Division (NSD) and National Panel Products Division (NPPD) following a round of elections on February 24.

Former deputy chairman Mike Bacon, Compass Forest Products Ltd, takes over as NSD chairman with Nick Shotton of Finnforest UK taking the role of vice-chairman.

The NPPD has named Bob Harvey of Flatau Dick (UK) Ltd as its new chairman with Chris Sutton of James Latham plc stepping up to the role of vice-chairman.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing chairmen, Iain Torrance of James Donaldson Timber Ltd and Nigel Williams of Premier Forest Products Ltd, for their work in the NSD and NPPD respectively,” said John White, TTF chief executive. “The TTF has made great progress in the last few years and they were contributing factors but I’m now looking forward to working with their successors to find ways to build upon that progress over the next few years.”

Peter James of Arnold Laver & Co Ltd was re-elected and continues as National Hardwood Division chairman with Ken Walsh of Danzer UK Ltd as vice-chairman.
