19 June 2016

Members of the Timber Trade Federation (TTF) were given a comprehensive presentation of the federation’s new strategy at the AGM on June 14.

Key objectives outlined by TTF managing director David Hopkins include managing risk and reputation; communication and engagement; education and training; and developing membership services.

A new communication campaign is also being undertaken and is aimed at targeting TTF suppliers/ buyers and key market influencers.

The campaign will focus on sustainable timber procurement training, a panel products quality assurance review, Responsible Purchasing Policy review & development, product marketing and website and media.

New TTF staff Karen Sussex, head of membership and office administration, and Mike Worrell, head of policy and sustainability, were also introduced to members, while there were farewells to the long-serving Jean Rennie and Nina Grundy for their invaluable contribution to the TTF.

Following the AGM, the TTF held the first meeting of one of the flagship projects of the new strategy: a strategic review of the panel products sector.
