UCM merges North American operations

UCM Timber plc is merging its two North American operations to provide a broader service for shippers and buyers.

Meridian Forest Products Inc, based in Portland and Atlanta will merge with the recently acquired Interpan North America Inc, based in Dallas and Vancouver.

UCM Timber group managing director Mark Plews said the merger created a “focused, single-minded team” which was looking to grow sales both into and out of North America.

The combined company will be renamed UCM Forest Products Inc, based in Dallas, but maintaining the network of offices in Vancouver, Portland and Atlanta.
