UK joinery sector to gather at National Liberal Club
6 September 2013The UK’s largest joinery sector event will this year be held at the National Liberal Club, One Whitehall Place, London.
The venue for the British Woodworking Federation’s (BWF) Annual Dinner & Awards 2013 on November 15, overlooking the River Thames, was once a regular meeting place for the likes of George Bernard Shaw, HG Wells and Bram Stoker, and former prime minister William Gladstone laid the foundation stone in 1884.
The Whitehall Suite, the setting for the BWF event, was once the club’s billiards room and is still decorated with the original tiles, designed to help the room stay clean from the cigar smoking of members like Winston Churchill.
The dinner will be followed by a Technical Award recognising technical excellence and innovation in joinery manufacture, plus an Apprentice/Trainee of the Year Award.
