UPM closes glulam mill
3 December 2012UPM is to cease production at its glulam panel mill in Heinola by the middle of December with the loss of 27 jobs.
The move is part of the plan announced in June to sell its Kajanni sawmill and close the Aureskoski and Heinola further processing mills, resulting in 97 job losses.
“The new sawn timber and further processing operations model will be based on wood sourcing to our integrated mills,” said Anssi Klinga, senior vice-president, UPM Timber.
