UPM Tilhill wins Forest Products Mountain Bike Challenge

Twenty-four teams comprising 82 riders from the British forestry and forest products sector completed the third annual Forest Products Mountain Bike Challenge on June 23.

The event, sponsored by UPM Tilhill, was held at the One Planet Adventure mountain biking centre at Coed Llandegla Forest, near Wrexham.

The men’s Individual prize was won by Eddie Addis (UPM Tilhill), with Andy Wardman (Forestry Commission Scotland) in second place, and Matthew Fretwell (Stuart Walker Timber) third.

The fastest woman was Lucy Prosser of Clifford Jones Timber, followed by Stef Bateman of AW Jenkinson Forest Products and Karen Wood of Coillte.

The winner of the team prize and the UK Forest Products Association Trophy was UPM Tilhill. Runners-up were Forestry Commission Scotland and UPM Shotton.

An additional prize for the best turned-out team, sponsored by Clifford Jones Timber Ltd, was judged by Penny Lloyd and awarded to UPM Tilhill.
